Our Favorite Highlights from Grandma’s Marathon 2025!

With another record-breaking year for Grandma’s Marathon race attendees, this marked Members Cooperative Credit Union’s eighth year at the event as we supported the festivities as a Presenting Sponsor. This year, we spent the weekend celebrating 18,317 race finishers alongside the many new and familiar faces cheering from the sidelines, and we wanted to share some of the stand-out moments from the weekend.

“It’s an honor to have joined the Grandma’s Marathon team again this year as a Presenting Sponsor,” raved Melissa Swenson, Senior Business Development and Outreach Specialist. “There’s nothing quite like being on the sidelines and at the finish line to cheer, celebrate, and watch so many race runners accomplish such an impressive feat.”

Miles of Memories at Grandma’s Marathon

As the race weekend witnessed its largest number of race finishers yet, our team was delighted to join the crowds again this year to support our community and celebrate successes – both big and small – all weekend long.

Starting off strong, we welcomed race runners and our community at the Essentia Health Fitness Expo. From handing out cowbells for race day to playing games to connecting with people who stopped by the booth, we showed up and showed out. And, in case you missed us at the Expo, we even had a 10-foot-tall, inflatable cowbell!

“Grandma’s Marathon never fails to be one of our favorite weekends of the year,” said Lara Wilkinson, Communications Manager. “And almost as exciting as the race itself is seeing the excitement and support from our credit union members, friends and families, and other community members from the very start and all the way to the finish line.”

We had the honor of handing out medals to race finishers at the finish line and congratulating them on the milestone they had just achieved. Whether it was their first marathon or one of many, we cheered and celebrated with each person who crossed the finish line.
